When the Maple Point Apartments, on Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, was scheduled to receive a complete updating, the building’s concrete and glass façades also required special attention. Next Gen Services, LDT was tasked with the restoration, repair including surface crack repair, window sealant replacement and installing vertical concrete patches. The concrete repair process was conducted from swing stages and included sounding to establish the extents of the deteriorated areas, installation of new steel reinforcing and installation of the specialized patching material. Adherence to a tight schedule was essential to complete the façade work to coincide with the interior work and apartment turnover. Working past weather and coordination hurdles, NGS completed the work on time, allowing the completion of the entire project as scheduled.
